I may have missed out on going to Kobe Oji Zoo, but I was still able to make it to nearby Chikusa to visit the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
Another aviary that is closed due to concerns of the bird flu. 🙁
But at least there is cat.
There were plenty of blooming sakura around. Since half of it is a garden, they had a large section dedicated to them, just up a lot of stairs.
There was some wind all the way up here, so there were plenty of pedals doing the thing.
Right next to the trees was a colorful arrangement of flowers.
Heading back down, I visited the (thankfully) warm greenhouse.
There was a lot more zoo and garden, maybe too much as I was running out of time until closing. But I was able to see the main reason I went to so many zoos this year, another pallas’ cat. Only one of the two was out and about sadly, but earlier when I stopped by, neither were. So, I’ll take it.
