On Friday, you can sit in any seat at the track regardless of ticket (with some exceptions in the grandstands). I made my way over to the end of the first/second corner, passing some blooming Sakura on the way.
Plenty of open spots on Friday, tons of people taking pictures (ignoring the actual photographers).
I ended up near the end of the first/second corner, where they would be just speeding back up. Hopefully making for easier pictures.
Oddly, I would say that the current F1 cars are not that loud (considering the sport). They were bordering on the almost too loud without ear protection. But I think Nascar is much louder than this.
There was also a nice Sakura behind me here.
For Free Practice 2, I originally moved over to one of the last straights of a lap, 130R. But I left because it was insanely windy. I didn’t expect it to be that cold, so I hadn’t worn any of my Heattech.
Instead, I moved adjacent to the open G stands where you could see the track crosses over itself. Here, you have twice the opportunity to see the cars zoom by.
You can also see some of the other places in the West area that were availible for seating.
