Day 1

7-Eleven Breakfast

We back with the konbini breakfast, reunited with my apple danish. But haven’t seen my mango drink from last year yet…

Touchdown Burger

from American Diner Andra

A smash burger cut in half on a plate of boiling cheese, need I say more?

Beef Bowl with Raw Egg

from Yoshinoya Akiba

Standard beef bowl from a different chain than where I went last year.

Day 2

7-Eleven items

I didn’t want to eat too much since I didn’t know our lunch plans. But I did find my mango drink at a different 7-Eleven

Chai Milk Tea Boba

from Gong cha

Boba good

Wagyu Yakiniku

from Heijoen Aqua City Odaiba

Good meat you cook yourself, still have troubles justifying the cost on matter how good it is.

Pizza (many kinds)

from Akihabara 500 Bal

People wanted 11:30pm pizza, so we got 11:30pm pizza.

Day 3

Shabu-Shabu

from Mo-Mo-Paradise Shinjuku Meijidori

I’m starting to notice Japan really likes making you cook your food. Also don’t forget to check holidays because your meal may cost more (we knew, but forgot).

Day 4

A very normal and reasonable breakfast

We had to leave early and check out, so I make do with what I have.

Wagyu Beef Curry, French Fries, & Coke

from Yamaneko Terrace

Somehow the first Japanese Curry I’ve ever had. It was good, but, as you can see, it was a bit sparse. Thankfully the fries were there to fill the void (and use the remaining sauce).

Ham Cutlet Sandwich, Cheese & Salami, Monster

Food for the Shinkansen back, the sandwich was disappointing; lack of tonkatsu sauce and the meat was pretty dry.

Day 5

Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sandwich, Hashbrowns, and Orange Juice

from eggslut

Wanted to go here last year, how can you not want to. It was really good, but the medium eggs on the sandwich have a tendency to explode everywhere.

Karaage & Coke x2

from Chibachan

Chicken

Day 6

Famichiki

I’m surprised it took this long too.

Yakisoba

from Okonomiyaki Teppanyaki Rush!

Oddly, my first yakisoba aside from the instant one I ate in Hakone last year.

Day 7

Mango Blend, Apple & Custard Cream Pastry

Frankly all it takes for me to get a bakery item is apple filling.

Cheesy Core Burrito, Soft Taco, & Churritos

from Taco Bell

Everyone was so enthusiastic about my trip to McDonald’s last year. The stars aligned and I was able to pay a visit to the local Taco Bell.

Day 8

Lawson Custard Taiyaki

Custard taiyaki is life

Chicken, Fries, Tempura Mozzarella x2, Coke

from Sushiro

This is the conveyor belt sushi place. They offer a handful of non-seafood items, so it’s not completely lost on me.

Day 9

Ham and Cheese Sandwich & Iced Tea

Free hotel breakfast. It was good.

Milk Tea and Latte Gelato

Also from the hotel, but less free. Apparently, they meant ‘latte’ literally because this ia milk flavor.

Beef, Cheese, Potato, etc. Kushikatsu

from 串かしく

I forgot to take a picture of the food, so here is a picture of the menu instead.

Day 10

Stewed Beef Tendon Curry & Pork Katsu

from CoCo Ichibanya Ikebukuro

I got spice level 4 of 20 since Japanese spice tends to be very weak. It cleared my sinuses but made it difficult to eat after a while. Lower next time.

Day 11

Shimokitazawa Meat Sandwich

from Stabler Meatsand EBISU

This was right near the hotel and was hard to not get before heading out. The meat was tougher than you would hope, but it wasn’t bad.

FamilyMart Hamburg Steak Bento

Since the latest accommodation has a microwave in room, it was time to try a conbini prepared meal. It was better than expected. Imagine if TV dinners were actually good.

Day 12

Baconator USA Double, Rich Butter Flavor Fries, Latte Boba

from Wendy’s Namba

Once again, I forget that latte just means milk here. But hey I’m near Dotonbori, that means its fast food time. 🙂

Large Instant Yakisoba

Head hurt, stay in evening, instant noodles mmm.

Day 13

7-Eleven Custard-Filler Eclairs

Mini eclairs good.

Barakalbi, Skirt Steak, and Rice

from Yakiniku Like

Finally walked by one of these at the right time, nice single person (or two) place to get cheaper JBBQ.

Custard Taiyaki

from Naruto Taiyaki Hompo

Only been having cold konbini taiyaki all this trip. It’s nice to have a hot one especially since the temperatures dropped.

Day 14

7-Eleven Apple Danish

I don’t think I need to explain these anymore.

Beef Curry & Cheese Naan

from CoCo Ichibanya

Standard spice level this time, was good.

FamilyMart Pizza Bun

Imagine a pork bun, but it’s filled with pizza sauce and cheese instead.

Day 15

Beef Bowl w/ Cheese

from Matsuya

I’ve now tried all of the 3 beef bowl chains. I have no preference. But I will say that every YouTuber was right, gyudon with cheese is the best option.

Custard Croissant Taiyaki

from Croissant Taiyaki

As we were in the area, we paid a visit to the nice old lady (two this time) who sells these.

Tonkotsu Ramen

from Ichiran

This is the ramen chain that you are told to not queue for since it is mid. I would say it is serviceable ramen, nothing to queue for if you don’t have to.

Custard Cream Puff

from Hirota

Had a normal cream puff from here last year. Custard really makes everything better.

Day 16

Famichiki

Cold + Rain = Hot Famichiki.

American Pizza Bento w/ Fried Cheese and Potato Wedges

from Dominos

Cold gross day continues, delivery it is.

Day 17

40cm Cinnamon Churro

Zoo churro too tempting

Yakiniku

from 回転焼肉一升びん 名古屋則武新町店

Conveyor belt yakiniku. It was pricey compared to other meals, but not bad.

Day 18

Long Potato w/ Cheddar Cheese Sauce & Parmesan

I smelled the allure of long potato at the track.

Gyudon w/ Extra Cheese

from Yoshinoya

Had to kill time in Shiroko waiting for my train.

Coolish

Soft serve, but convenient.

Day 19

Pokka Sapporo Vitamin C Lemon

When you are even vaguely sick, just overload on Vitamin C.

FamilyMart Mapo Tofu

A nice Korean guy who was sitting next to me during FP3 had an extra bento and offered it to me. A dish I’ve heard about a few times but never sought out. Surprisingly good.

Overpriced Track Margherita Pizza

Pizza sounded good, and it wasn’t bad. But they had clearly risen the price and 800 for a slice is a bit silly.

Day 20

FamilyMart Custard Cream Pastry

They had no Apple & Custard ones 🙁

in Jelly Energy

If it seems like I don’t eat enough on a day, assume I also had this or a CalorieMate at some point.

Yakiniku

from Yakiniku Like Nagoya-Fushimi

After 3 days of the busiest possible place I could be, a minimal contact restaurant that I knew is exactly what I need.

Day 21

FamilyMart Custard Taiyaki

It was about 1pm at this point and I just needed something, even if I was walking to lunch.

Beef Curry w/ Minced Meat Cutlet

from CoCo Ichibanya

This CoCo Ichi was out of Naan 🙁

Brown Sugar Boba Tea

from Kocha

Ngl, this kinda just tasted like iced milk. I like the fancy cover thing it came in.

Day 22

Hamburg Steak filled w/ cheese (and topped with cheese) & Rice

from Cafe Gusto Uguisadani

A chain with over 1,300 locations in Japan that I had yet to go to. This was really good.

Akagi Nyugyo “Otona na Garigari-kun Fully Ripe Muscat”

Brand new popsicle that came out today. Saw an ad on a train, guess it worked. It’s fine, just imagine frozen grape flavor syrup.

Day 23

Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Salad (?), Mini French Toast, & Drink Bar

from Denny’s Oimachi-ekimae

Yes, that Denny’s. It was good.

Overpriced Airport Pizza

By American price standards, that much for a 12″ pizza isn’t that bad. It was a pretty good one too ngl.
